Rights Respecting School

UNCRC Right’s Respect School

Here at St Mary’s we are working towards becoming a Silver-Awarded Rights Respecting School (RRS). We started out journey towards becoming a RRS school back in 2022 where we updated our Positive Relationships Policy. From here we then applied for out bronze award which we were successful in gaining in March 2023. Since then, we have created a detailed outline of how we hope to achieve our Silver Award. Our Right’s Respecting Pupil group meet fortnightly and deliver information during weekly assemblies on the school’s Right of the Fortnight. We also highlight all our learning about our different Rights during our House Days every term. Every pupil in St Mary’s is aware of their Rights and we are all working towards understanding the responsibilities of these Rights.
